Protest against the trip to Iran of German Vice Chancellor Sigmar Gabriel / Against the nuclear deal with Iran

Friday, July 17, 2015, 5 p.m.
Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy
Scharnhorststr. / Ecke Invalidenstraße, 10115 Berlin

German Vice Chancellor and Economy Minister Sigmar Gabriel has announced a trip to Iran starting this Sunday. He will be accompanied by a high-ranking delegation of German entrepreneurs. The campaign STOP THE BOMB calls for the cancellation of this trip.

STOP THE BOMB spokeswoman Ulrike Becker explains: "70 years after the end of the Shoah, German companies and the Federal Government are in the front row organizing business deals with the anti-Semitic Iranian regime. Representatives of the regime have repeatedly threatened Israel with destruction, even during the negotiations - most recently during the anti-Semitic Quds march. The journey of Sigmar Gabriel and German business representatives must therefore be canceled."

Stephan Grigat, research director of STOP THE BOMB: "Billions of Euros will flow to the regime in Tehran as a result of the nuclear deal. Iran’s support for terrorism, for groups such as Hezbollah or Hamas will get new proportions as well as Iran’s expansion in the Arab world. The terror against the Iranian population is not declining, on the contrary: Under the supposedly ‘moderate’ president Hassan Rohani significantly more people have been executed than under his predecessor Ahmadinejad ".
