The Iran-Connection

Close relations with the totalitarian antisemitic regime in Iran were politically desired for decades and were politically promoted by all governments; all parties represented in the Bundestag supported this policy.

STOP THE BOMB has always criticised this appeasement policy. Since the beginning of the freedom movement in September 2022, there has been a new look at the regime in Iran. For the first time, human rights crimes in Iran are being seriously discussed.

STOP THE BOMB calls for a turning point in relations with Iran. In a nutshell, this can be summed up in concrete terms: On the one hand, the German government must do everything to promote the freedom movement in Iran and, on the other hand, refrain from doing anything that legitimises and strengthens the terror regime.

Close cooperation with the Islamist Mullah regime has been promoted in Germany at all levels: By promoting business with Iran, by attracting Iranian banks to Germany, by trying to circumvent US sanctions via Instex, by partnering with Iranian-controlled associations such as the IZH in Hamburg and financially supporting the religious association IGS, by political foundations propagating close cooperation with the regime and warning against regime change, and by allowing Iranian secret services to stay in Germany. All this must come to an end.

On this page, we want to publish background information on how close the cooperation with the regime was in the past and is in the present and what must be done to end it.
